Statement of Faith

We believe the Holy Scriptures, from Genesis through Revelation, are the authoritative written standard for Christian faith, doctrine, worship, and conduct. We acknowledge the whole Bible and seek to interpret every passage in its proper context and in harmony with the rest of Scripture. Scripture should explain Scripture, and doctrine should be established by the consistent witness of the biblical text rather than isolated passages or human tradition.

We believe in God the Father, His Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost. We do not accept the doctrine of the Trinity as our explanation of their relationship. We believe the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost are three distinct beings working in complete agreement and unity of purpose. We believe Jesus Christ existed before His earthly birth and was Jehovah (YHWH) revealed in the Old Testament, acting in accordance with the will and authority of the Father.

We believe Jesus Christ is the promised Messiah, the Son of God, Lord and Savior. He lived in obedience to God, taught righteousness, died for our sins, was raised bodily from the dead, and will return. Our priority is to follow His example and teachings and to walk as He walked in love, obedience, mercy, holiness, truth, and service.

We believe Scripture defines sin as the transgression of God’s law. God’s commandments reveal His standard of righteous conduct. We therefore teach repentance from sin and obedience to the commandments and applicable laws, statutes, and instructions God has given in Scripture.

We observe the biblical seventh-day Sabbath as holy time in obedience to God’s commandment. We understand the Sabbath as a continuing part of faithful Christian obedience and a time set apart for God, worship, rest, study, fellowship, and appropriate works consistent with Scripture.

We uphold the Ten Commandments as an enduring expression of God’s law and teach believers to order their lives in obedience to them through faith in Jesus Christ.

We observe the biblical appointed times and feast days set forth in Leviticus 23 as part of our worship and obedience to God. We seek to observe them according to Scripture and understand their meaning in light of God’s plan and the work of Jesus Christ.

We observe the biblical dietary laws and teach obedience to other statutes and instructions of God that remain applicable to faithful Christian life. In determining application, we examine the whole counsel of Scripture, the context of the command, and the teachings and example of Jesus Christ and the apostles.

We uphold modesty in dress and conduct for both men and women. In accordance with our understanding of Scripture, women cover their heads while praying or prophesying, and men uncover their heads during prayer or prophecy. These practices are taught as acts of reverence and obedience rather than grounds for pride or mistreatment of others.

We believe the Gospel calls all people to faith in Jesus Christ, repentance from sin, obedience to God, and a transformed life. Salvation is made possible through Jesus Christ and cannot be purchased by money, status, ancestry, or human achievement. We seek to remain faithful to Christ and God’s commandments so that, by God’s grace through faith, we may receive the salvation Christ brings and enter the Kingdom of the Father.

We believe God’s offer of salvation is available to people of every nation, race, ethnicity, and background. No person is excluded from the Gospel because of ancestry or social background. All are called to faith in Jesus Christ, repentance, and obedience to God. We reject racial superiority and the teaching that salvation belongs exclusively to one race or ethnic group.

We believe Jesus Christ will return personally and that His coming is central to the Christian hope. We believe salvation in its promised fullness is the reward Christ will bring with Him at His return. We look forward to His appearing, the resurrection, judgment, and the fulfillment of God’s promised Kingdom.

We believe the biblical hope centers on the bodily resurrection of the dead. The dead await resurrection, and believers ultimately receive life through Christ. We look for the resurrection at Christ’s coming, God’s righteous judgment, the defeat of evil, and the fulfillment of His promises.

We believe the Church is a community of believers called to worship God, follow Jesus Christ, teach the whole counsel of Scripture, make disciples, care for one another, and serve people in need. The Church should demonstrate its faith by its conduct and not merely by its profession.

We believe obedience to God includes love, mercy, justice, generosity, and practical service. House of Salvation Outreach therefore seeks to feed, assist, encourage, and serve people in need. Charitable assistance is not conditioned upon a recipient joining our Church, attending services, adopting our beliefs, or making a financial contribution.

We respect lawful civil authority while believing that no pastor, denomination, council, religious tradition, government, or other human institution stands above God or the authority of Scripture in matters of faith and obedience.

We believe biblical prophecy should be interpreted in harmony with Scripture as a whole and with careful attention to biblical and historical context. The Church may adopt and teach specific prophetic interpretations. Detailed prophetic identifications and timelines are not automatically foundational doctrine unless formally designated as such under the Bylaws.

The doctrines expressly stated in this Statement of Faith are foundational teachings of House of Salvation Outreach. On questions not expressly made foundational, sincere believers may study and discuss Scripture in good faith. A disagreement over a secondary interpretive issue shall not by itself constitute abandonment of the foundational doctrine of the Church.

Our mission is to preach the good news of Jesus Christ, teach the whole Bible, call people to faith, repentance, and obedience, make disciples who seek to walk as Christ walked, worship God according to Scripture, and demonstrate Christian love through charitable outreach and service.
